PCJ Monday Meet & Greet

Each Monday, a member of the PCJ design team will be featured, right here, on the blog so that all of our followers can get to know the DT, our crafting styles and other tidbits of info. Please visit the featured member’s blog, leave them some love and follow them if you like what you read!

INTRODUCING SUZIE!

· How long have you been crafting?
Ok I started paper crafting about 6 years ago when I was pregnant with my 1st son and got it into my head that when the baby came along I
would make the birth announcements myself – after that I was hooked to paper crafting. Before that I done a lot of cross stitch and I have always longed to try jewellery making and would love to have a play at mosaic’s too so there is always more to try which is my favourite thing about crafting.

· If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 things would you bring to keep on crafting?
Hmmmmm this is a tough one but I love “colouring in “ always have – even as a little girl – so I would have to take a stack of images and some colouring medium (pencils or promarkers or even the kids’ crayons !) and a pretty paper pad to stroke and make cards with (I adore papers!)

· Where do your creative messes flow?
I am not lucky enough to have a dedicated craft room so I use our dining table which means I have to tidy after each crafty session
· Share a piece of work that you are proudest of-it can be anything new or old :)
I love the simplicity of this card which I made last September to say thanks to the teachers at my eldest son’s nursery when he left for “big school”.
I think it looks clean but oh so pretty. The nursery is called butterflies so I just had to go with this MS punch.

·
Are you a messy crafter or tidy?
Since I craft in the dining area I have to keep tidy otherwise I just run out of space and end up losing bits and pieces (V frustrating). So I keep a large mixing bowl on the table for all rubbish and clean my craft area after each card so I start afresh for the next.
·
Favourite current paper line
I am totally in love with Pink Paislee’s Butterfly garden collection at the moment – it’s so soft and romantic. Thankfully my darling boys got me the 6 x 6 paper pad and the stamp set for Mother’s day (aren’t they clever!)
·
Favourite online resource for inspiration
Wow too many to name them all but here are a few
Splitcoast Stampers – fantastic resource library and a gallery full of beautiful cards
You Tube – My 1st stop for tutorials you can find one for almost anything on here
Moxie Fab World – A great inspiration resource
Finally my greatest inspiration comes from all of you crafters out there. When I need inspiration I browse the challenge blogs and visit as many blogs as possible – every card has something to offer (think about the colour combo, the layout, the way embellishments are used and the placement of them too)

· Which craft magazines do you read (online or offline)?
I LOVE magazines (and catalogues !) and my fav thing to do when I get a quiet 10 minutes in the afternoon is to sit down with a brand spanking new mag and a cuppa – heaven.
I subscribe to Papercraft Inspirations (UK) Cards Magazine online edition (US) and I regularly buy Simply cards and papercraft (UK).
·
Top tips for crafters old and new
The fantastic thing with crafting, as with fashion, is that there is always something new happening so don’t be afraid to try something new and change up your style – I am constantly trying new thing (esp making my own embellishments) I think this helps to keep me interested and enthusiastic.
·
Complete this sentence: You will know which project is mine by…………
The fact that nothing is straight!!
·
Share your favourite quote
Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.  ~Anthony J. D'Angelo
·
Which Disney character would you be and why?
Definitely Dory from Nemo – I am so forgetful – when I had children I lost the bit of my brain that stores information – it just does not stick in there!

· What is your favourite film
I love classics like Room with a view and out of Africa but also adore kingpin (LMAO) and I really enjoyed the hangover!
